Aysenmyia, a new genus of Mycetophilidae from Chile

Abstract


With specimens captured in Chile, genus Aysenmyia and its type species, A. patagonica, are hereby described. The new genus of the subfamily Sciophilinae is included in the tribe Gnoristini, close to Austrosynapha, Tonnoir, 1929, of wich it is separed mainly by means of its palps opf only one segment, long antennas with short and wide flagellum segments, long subcostal nervure, free at its end, stem of the posterior fork long, as well as its genitalia.
