Abstract

Philodryas viridissima is a conspicuously green and large racer snake from the Philodryadini tribe, presenting a wide distribution in most Equatorial South America and an isolated population in the Atlantic Forest of northeastern Brazil. In this study, we revisit the geographical distribution of P. viridissima, presenting an updated distribution map to Brazil, while also filling distribution gaps and a new state record to Roraima, extending the species distribution in approximately 475 km northwards from the nearest record, in Presidente Figueiredo, Amazonas state, Brazil.
